![]()
Known for outdoor power tools such as robotic lawnmowers, trimmers and cultivators, Husqvarna is one of the world’s oldest continuously running companies having first been founded in 1689, compared to ‘just’ 1922 for Horace Fuller.
Whilst the contemporary lineup of products are a far cry away from the original products produced from Husqvarna’s origins as a firearms company, all of the products from the Swedish group are united by their high quality finish, trusty reliability and innovative design features.
Here we countdown the top 10 Husqvarna Garden Tools to look out for in the 2023 gardening season and beyond.
The Automower Range
Before we delve into the list of 10 of the most popular garden machinery items available here at Horace Fuller by the Swedish manufacturer, we cannot mention Husqvarna machinery without acknowledging their range of robotic lawn mowers.
Helping change the way we approach mowing lawns, their fleet of automowers are up there with the very best. Simply set up the parameter of the area that you want to be mowed and the ingenius mower will take care of the rest. It will even go back to its hub station and charge itself when necessary.
At Horace Fuller, we have four different available models of robotic lawn mower by Husqvarna ranging in price - feel free to browse our range and check out the various features and specifications of each model.
Husqvarna 122HD45
First up in our recommendation list is the Husqvarna 122HD45, a lightweight yet versatile hedge trimmer that is perfectly suited for domestic use for gardens of all sizes.
Powered by a quiet 21.7cc two-stroke petrol engine, what it lacks in exhaust noise it does not compromise for on performance. The hedge trimmer can deliver up to 4,050 precise cuts per minute, thanks to the double-edged 45cm cutting blades. The blades feature a tooth gap of 28mm, delivering sharp results for a maximum recommended cutting diameter of up to 20mm.
One of the main considerations when picking a domestic hedge trimmer is the comfort and usability. No-one wants a powerful hedge trimmer if it causes great pain and discomfort every time it is used. Husqvarna are acutely aware of this, and as such designed with many comfort-features included. These include the LowVib dampeners, which help to absorb the vibrations from the powerful machine.
The lightweight build of this hedge trimmer ensures class-leading manoeuvrability around your hedges, even when elevated, which makes it a solid choice of hedge trimmer for beginners.
Husqvarna 540i XP
Moving onto the world of chainsaws, the Husqvarna 540i XP is a popular choice for removing small to mid-sized trees thanks to the powerful yet efficient battery-power system.
The 36 volt lithium ion battery delivers a performance similar to a 40cc petrol saw, but with the added benefits of a lightweight, high performance rear-handle battery powered chainsaw. Excluding the battery and cutting equipment,it weighs only 2.9 kgs, with front handle equivalent vibration levels of 3.6 m/s2. The rear handle equivalent vibration level is 3.7 m/s2.
One of the other benefits of the battery-powered systems compared to petrol is the reduced sound created. The sound pressure level at the operator's ear is 95 dB(A), and guaranteed sound power level (LWA) 106 dB(A).
This chainsaw certainly delivers all of the benefits of battery power without compromising on cutting performance. You can even keep track of usage, service history and last known location through the connectivity offered through the Husqvarna Fleet Services™ app.

Despite the relatively large wheelbase of 88.7cm and weight of 244 kg, the ride-on mower is straightforward to drive thanks to the hydrostatic transmission. The mower is also class-leading in terms of comfort, with only 0.7 m/s2 of vibrations experienced through the seat, and 2.5 m/s2 through the steering wheel.

Husqvarna 130
Don’t be mistaken by the small dimensions of the Husqvarna 130; this is a powerful chainsaw that offers great value and versatility for many tasks around the garden.
Weighing only 4.7kg, this brilliant chainsaw is suitable and comfortable for use over extended periods of time for activities such as log cutting, pruning or general maintenance. The chainsaw benefits from an increased feeling of control for the user as a result of the low kick back cutting chain. This cutting chain also helps to reduce vibrations, with the front handle having the equivalent vibration level of 3.72 m/s2, and the rear handle a respectable equivalent vibration level of 5.5 m/s2.
The air injection system also helps to lengthen the operating times between filter cleaning, as the system provides centrifugal air cleaning.
Husqvarna 445
The second generation in the range of powerful all-round chainsaws, the Husqvarna 445 is ideally suited for professionals.
Packed with innovative design features such as the Smart Start®, this is an 18 inch chainsaw with industry-leading capabilities. Small features like the visible fuel level, and the fuel pump designed to ensure an easy start every time help to ensure it is highly usable for regular usage, especially as the powerful chainsaw only weighs 4.9kg. However, this power does come at the expense of increased noise; the sound pressure level is comparatively high at 103 dB(A) at the operator's ear.
When being used regularly, fuel consumption is an important consideration. The Husqvarna X-Torq® engine is renowned for its reduced emissions and lower fuel consumption; only 481 g/kWh.
Husqvarna 135 Mark II
The Husqvarna 135 Mark II is a robust, powerful chainsaw. Compared to the first generation, the Mark II delivers an 18% increase in torque whilst also reducing fuel consumption 20% and the emissions down 75%, helping the latest model to stay ahead of the curve with regard to the stringent environmental guidelines.
The combined choke and stop function is a clever addition that not only helps to reduce the risk of flooding the engine; it also helps to make for easier starting. The chain tensioner is side-mounted on the machine so it is simple and easy to adjust the chain. Other useful features include the snap-lock cylinder cover which helps to save time when changing or cleaning the spark plugs.
Despite the high-performance power, the inbuilt LowVib technology absorbs the powerful vibrations, enabling the user to use the chainsaw for significant lengths of time without suffering ill effects, pains or cramps.
Husqvarna 125BVX
For gardeners seeking a way to keep their garden smart and tidy, the Husqvarna 125BVX is an easy to use petrol leaf blower.
Husqvarna’s Smart Start technology has been incorporated into this leaf blower, helping to deliver a product that is easy to use and can be started with minimum effort.
It has a range of operating functions, these being the blow, vacuum and mulch. When blowing, users can choose between either a flat or rounded nozzle for clearing the leaves and debris, which gives a choice between either a broader airstream or more directional accuracy. The vacuum kit will instead collect the leaves, and thanks to the blades within the system will mulch the collected content to a finer cutting. Not only is this good for mulching, but the finer material also allows for added capacity in the attached 64.35 litre vacuum bag.
Weighing just 4.35kg and featuring a soft grip handle, it is a comfortable hold and can be used for prolonged periods of time. However, it should be noted the relatively high equivalent vibration levels at the handle of 11.1 m/s2 and sound pressure level at the operator’s ear of 94dB(A).
